KIWA II's Specifications

Kiwa II's original design concept was for open water exploration.

With a 2 metre draft, round bilge hull, wide spread high bow and excellent above-water line height, along with her gross displacement weight of 50 tonne, Kiwa II is engineered for maximum visibility, stability and dry deck Auckland Harbour cruising.

The twin screw propulsion system allows the vessel to be highly manouverable. This is advantageous for docking ashore on island destinations.

Kiwa II refit design program is centered on safety, and passenger comfort. This is outlined in the following vessel compartment descriptions.

KIWA II's Interior Layout

bathroom KIWA II's Bathroom and Showers
Ascending to the bathroom/shower area, you will notice thespace and headroom that is unfamiliar in charter boats.

To create a bathroom that was not only functional in design but also aesthetically pleasing, the latest European whiteware and accessories have been chosen. From the in-wall toilet cistern to the projecting shower heads, attention to detail has turned what is traditionally a tight area on most vessels into a spacious, modern and highly functional facility.

The ample space in the bathroom area allows for the privacy when changing for swimming or into more comfortable attire, better suited for the day cruise activities.

Off the lounge area is the main viewing deck, which can accommodate 25 passengers seated or standing, with a huge dove tailed built-in dining table at the rear.

This whole area can be completely enclosed with a canopy for those blistering hot Auckland days, and clear zip down sides for when the showers blow through.

On the top deck the passengers stand 5.0m from the water line, which gives spectacular unhindered viewing of the Hauraki Gulf and surrounding islands.

lounge KIWA II's Lounge
This area can be used as a place for a quiet time or as a meeting/discussion facility. The lounge consists of a large 2.235m x 1.8m L shaped seating arrangement.

Electrical recharging outlets are also available.

KIWA II's Saloon
The main concepts for the saloon are comfort and space with easy, open traffic flow routes to the bar, bathrooms and top deck areas.

Measuring 9.0m long x 3.2m wide with a generous head room standing of 2.09m, this space is complemented by built in couches. One has a 1.8m L shaped curve onto the end, both are styled in Cafe latte leather. This space can seat 30 people in comfort and works as a pure entertainment area with all amenities.

The nine large 750mm x 1000mm tinted windows let ample natural light into the saloon. This feature allows passengers to view Auckland Harbour water activities and the surroundings in the most pleasant or demanding of weather conditions.

The saloon is serviced by a solid wood bar 3.2 long x 1.5 wide with stainless steel accents. This houses a fully equipped catering and bar fit out, which includes a large two door, glass front display cooler, full sized stainless steel hob and oven and microwave.

KIWA II's Wall and Floor Finishings
In keeping with nautical traditions the walls are lined in a honey coloured Rimu solid wood tongue and groove.

The floors are decked in the latest technology polypropylene taupe carpet, especially designed for underfoot comfort and grip.

The cabin ceilings feature recessed halogen lighting with dimmers that are used extensively throughout the boat to maintain perfect light levels for work or play.
